    Great shave. Plenty to cut as yesterday was no shave no shower, amazing how much better it feels to be clean and clean shaven. The weekend was all school and I'm fighting off a case of the winter crud to boot. Called in sick this morning, need to get rid of some of the ebola virus before it puts me down hard.

    I do not know about anyone else, but there are times a razor has to go back to the hones a few times to get the edge right. Both the rescued Pipe and the Jnat Frame back show a hair popping edge and shave...but...and it is a big one...the edges are not yet comfortable to shave with.

    I have experienced that problem a few times also, Richard. I found that many times I had not gone long enough on the bevel set to get to some 'good' steel. Seems like the edge was sharp and would crumble away. I have seen this caused by oxidation at the edge, sometimes this will look like microchipping and it's just bad steel. Have another go at it, and good luck.

    No pic with this one but it was a cool moment. I played mentor to a friend who had issues shaving with a straight. After trying for a week, he gave up and went back to a DE. During the course of the day, I gave him some pointers. Afterwards we had a shave in his den. It worked out a lot better for him. Priceless.

    @all:
    Well, friends. I was taken aback about your greetings in facebook, by email and in several other social networks. Thanks a lot.

    Tuesday

    Razor | Jernbolaget Frameback | Cream | Musgo Real Orange Amber | After Shave | D. R. Harris Bay Rum | Hair Tonic | Pashana Bay Rum |

    Another very close shave with the Jernbolaget; no need for a second pass. The picture represents my rampant obsession with rock climbing (bouldering; mainly indoors) at present. I’m going to build a small practice wall inside and then line out my garage. My biceps are SO sore from climbing on the weekend that today’s lunchtime back and legs workout ended in extreme pain. I know I SHOULD slow down; but I don’t want to.

    Anyone know a good bouldering forum?
