@RollinCoal69.. after trying the SS, that's where I'm at. I want this for a travel blade. If I'm going to spend over $200, I'll get an actual straight. BUT... for $100 and no need for strops/crox, the SS gives an AWESOME shave.

You get in to YMMV territory when you decide between the DX, SS, RG and then the Kai variants.
I have not tried the Feather RG folding but I have a RG fixed. And from the pictures I have seen the RG and the DX share a profile and shank style.
So if its the price point, think about getting a Feather RG instead of a DX. You just step down a level in material - the workmanship is still excellent as is the service life.

Between the DX/RG and the SS you have a different head profile, the SS having a "bulb" leading edge that for many makes the transition to the wicked sharp SS blade a little easier. The shank on the SS folding differs from the DX/RG profile, again - very YMMV.

And remember that these all hold their value - since the edge is replaceable and the scales are rugged unless you have been using it to open paint cans or soaking it in Chlorine Bleach they are easy to sell should you choose to move on.

@MJC... having gotten used to straights, the "bulbous head" that you describe on the SS is one of my cons with the razor. A little hard to get under the nose. With that said... still an awesome shave.

I've got one of those heap 'o cheap Chinese shavettes with the stainless steel handles ($1,- on the bay &#128514 with the dorco blades. Originally I bought it just for shits and giggles, but if in a rush, I lather up, run that thing down my face and gives me a surprisingly excellent shave! I won't be throwing my babies out ever, but the ugly duckling found a way into my razor cabinet.

I used to keep it in "Military Trim" (Short - no wider than the mouth - Dad was a USMC Col.) the longer / bigger Mo is new.

And thank your for your Service, and for sacrificing your Mo options while you serve...

Thinking about giving the Feather another shot tonight... curious to see after the blade sat for a few days how it acts. I rinsed with EtOH before storing, so let's see how it does after 2 days of sitting.
