Thread: What are your friends/familys reaction to you shaving w/straight rzrs

The wife wouldn't notice if I shaved with a piece of broken glass.

My parents think that I'm crazy getting into straight shaving. They think I'll cut myself, and can't see the beauty in the whole process.

Most friends don't think anything, since I've always been interested in 'special' things

Spouse thinks I'm a bit nuts, but realizes it's a hobby as much as anything. Mother-in-law thinks it's neat because she hasn't seen a strop in forever.

So a work mate said that he wanted me to give him a Christmas shave yesterday, this morning I had my soaps, brush, razors, bowl, towels etc laid out on his desk and recorded his reaction with this thread in mind.

There were the three guys who are holding down the fort having a good old chat over a shave, no nicks and his side burns are straight.

Best thing is he is Samoan and the chief of his village, I have shaven royalty...

I haven't told to a single soul. It's my thing.

Te He, the shave on the first mate was so good that the other said and I quote "yeah, seen as well you have not cut him I might have a go"......

People at the office know I know how to sharpen a knife, so one of them asked me to sharpen his super dinky little schrade. He was very pleased with the job and exclaimed, "gosh, this is so sharp you could shave with it!!!"

"Uh....no, not really" I says. We talk about it and I mention straights. He looks at me calm and level and says, "well....if you're not going to pull your razor out of your boot during a bar fight, you might as well shave with it!"

My mom knows I will do what I like, my dad think I'm lost my mind, brother think I am cool and wants to learn to shave with SR too, my friend won't believe me or want to me shave their beard too and my wife is telling me to go for it. I wouldn't care less what other people think because this is the best way to me shave beard.

Everyone thinks I belong in a str8 jacket...................
