Thread: Project coochie razor

On my Wapi, I've noticed I can actually go a little longer before restropping (usually I wait until going XTG on my chin--my beard there is probably not that much thinner than garden variety pubic hair, so long as we're having this discussion...) I'm guessing this is due to the grind (1/2 hollow instead of full hollow).

On that note, anybody though of using a 4/8 wedge (maybe shortened to 2" or so) for that reason? (Thicker edge more resistant to misalignment by thicker hair.)

Welcome to the club Viola, as far as the wapi's go I haven't tried the regrind yet but the wapi that I first tried stayed sharp throughout the shave. My reccomendation is on angle I could be wrong but I have found with the wapi if you lay the razor flat on the skin it will be somewhat like a suction cup, this of course it too shalllow of an angle to shave with but after the suction feel if you lift the spine ever so slightly and break the suction that is the angle I use with great success on my face and as far as down there, it worked well as well. Granted I was dealing with the day befores disposable irritation but all in all it worked very well. The Wapis are very versatile and make a great regrind for a coochie razor. How does the grind make any difference at the edge of the razor? Isn't the edge of a half hollow just as thin as the edge of a full hollow?

Considering the unending and overwhelming interest in this topic, why not make it a "sticky"? It would seem appropriate for the subject and keep it at the top of the list where it seems to surface frequently. Of further consideration, now that there is a women's thread, would be to call this sticky "Project Crotchie Razor" in that the women here may want advice or comment on shaving their guys' delicate parts.

Hey! I already suggested we make this a "sticky" in post #3!

This thread has really cracked me up - in a good way. Thanks guys and gals for an entertaining (and informative) read - from a coochie shave virgin (with a straight that is )

I'm going through my collection and I may have a couple blades that might make good coochie razors (love that term) - short and or narrow blades. I'll post them in BST if I want to move them.

I smell what you're stepping in, but I'm not going there. On the whole, I think that's a crappy idea, but I've been wrong before - maybe I'll see the light in the end?

I was totally thrilled to find this thread in my first few days as a member. I found it about a minute before I was going to start a thread about the very same topic. I haven't even posted my shave in the Ladies section yet because it pertained directly to this thread. And I forgot to mention that I found shaving above the pubic bone to be much easier on myself than shaving someone else.
