just finished
A couple weeks ago I picked up a couple broken blades on ebay
STRAIGHT RAZOR LOT/F. MULLER/JOSEPH ELLIOT/FINEDGE - eBay (item 140229822057 end time May-13-08 18:00:00 PDT)
I took the third one in line and chopped the point, reground and scaled it in mesquite
its a 6/8 round or French point now
over all its about 5 1/4" with a 2" blade.
The spacer is a piece of granite style corian
now I just need to convince the wife to let me take it on its maiden voyage.
my 12 year old daughter just walked in an said " its a cute little travel razor"

Well I have to claim success, The small razor gives a really good shave. the size made it very maneuverable especially around the base of the chin. It could have been a closer shave but I think it needs a little more work on the edge, especially before I would use it on any other areas.
The blade size and balance seem to work very well together, maybe I should brand PCR onto the scales

Thanked: 124So the GF decided her coochie razor had to have to have pink scales. Wimmen... Anyway, I had some scrap oak lying around so I cut out some scales. She stained them with some "pickled oak" stain (whatever that is) which she claims is pink, but really isn't (at least to my eye) and really brings out the natural grain of the oak. It's a little crude (you can see, for example, that the wedge doesn't perfectly match the scales because I didn't think to sand them together before she stained the scales). But on the whole, not bad for a first attempt.
