Off-topic, but I always loved John Boorman's directing. He created (or just took advantage of nature, really) equally lush settings in both Deliverance and The Emerald Forest.

Aloha!
Today was a Shavette shave day with a Voskhod blade (new) and I was absolutely certain I'd have one or two nice photos for this thread. I indeed cut myself twice, but they were tiny cuts and stopped bleeding before I could get the phone to snap a photo. I didn't apply styptic nor alum on purpose but they just didn't bleed much at all. And for some reason, I can't find any of those usual worm-scar-like razor burns. I usually get at least one of these from a Shavette shave.
Murphys law. I go into this shave EXPECTING to have at least one if not two photos for "cut of the day" because I always cut myself with a Shavette. And indeed, I cut myself, but nothing worth a photo. You'd need a macro lens to see it.
Perhaps I should mentally prepare myself every Shavette shave to take a photo for this thread, and therefore I won't have anything to post. Reverse psychology.

@Zip
Maybe your technique is improving.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Aloha!
No, not WANTING to see blood, just expecting it from a Shavette. And I agree, rolodave, my skill with a shavette is slowly getting better. I am for SURE paying extremely close attention to my technique when I have a Shavette in my hand.
Well, I started a new thread on my Shavette shaving technique work in the "Shavette" area. I've also realized that those Derby half blades that came with one of my Shavettes are much better and more forgiving in a Shavette than my beloved Voskhod blades:

My new technique is to "gingerly" shave first pass with the Shavette and second pass with my DE. I'm honestly trying to improve my Shavette technique.
I'll tell you one thing, shaving with my straight seems SO much easier after all the sessions with the shavette.

Dammit!! Right under the base of my nose right in the middle (or the columella as I learned today). Tiny tiny cut with just a half a drop of blood. BUT WHY DOES IT HURT SOOOO MUCH??? Sorry, no pics. The cut really is that small. But there is no crying in SRP so I will carry on.

Thanked: 96Yes, shirts with a purple heart on it. You aren't a real man and or woman until you shave with a straight razor and draw blood!

Actually, my shavette, The Holy Black Barber's Razor, actually holds the blade very rigid, with just a very narrow blade exposure. It is no more flimsy than a hollow ground straight. Haven't had any issues with the corners, but I also shave with a spike point sometimes, so I have gotten pretty good at avoiding the point.
