What a great gift. Amazingly impressed. I would have put that blade in a vise and tried to straighten it. I would have broken a priceless blade.
Andrew as a honer and builder of my own scales. I feel awe at what that took. I can feel how much work went into getting that back in fighting condition. Dude that is PRICELESS. I would have pulled out all my hair. punched holes in the walls and broke my foot kicking a wall.
If you see a wonky razor, think what it took to make it serviceable.
Talk about honing gymnastics. You pulled a Cirque De Solle. That is the stuff most would walk away from. Qudos to you and thanks.
    Its a keeper for sure.

I did walk away from it, at least 3 times. I thought about the vice thing, and knew I'd wreck it so I figured I might as well see if I could get it centering in some scales and then see if I could hone it. Most of the warp starts where the tang turns into the blade so it wasn't as bad as it looks. That being said, the geometry on the blade was all screwy too, as can be seen by the gawd awful bevel. After finally getting everything right, I didn't even want to look at this razor anymore. Couldn't stand to be in the same room with it, let alone put it beside my other cherished razors. So I shipped it off to someone who could maybe learn to like it.

I do love it. Because I KNOW what it took. I couldnt get my project right. I dropped it in boiling water. Took it out to the vise. I got it straight. I am pretty sure I ruined the temper. Wouldnt hold an edge, crazy bevels. I screamed at the wife. Time to stop. My marriage is more important than fixing what is over my head. So yes I do appreciate the labor of love. Shaves like a dream.

3hours later I just caught myself stroking my face, like a newbie. Yeah that good.

Mickey Lees Grand Havana Soap & Aftershave, and hair pomade. The smell is of sweet cigars, unsmoked that is.
Bath House Spanish Fig & nutmeg in the wooden bowl.
    Le Pere Lucien Traditional soap.
Thought I would try some new scents as OBE started a thread for top tier soaps.

it's way late and I'm not sure exactly when I'll get it or if I'll get it but I can't wait to test the edge it gives me.

I hear you, I've been waiting for my Heljestrand MK 33 7/8 in ivory scales for almost a month, it has now shown up in the tracking, and should hopefully be here this week or beginning of next.....
