My SRD Premium 1 strop and Crox crayon came this morning. Again great service from SRD. The strop is beautiful in looks, draw, and how it puts a finish on my razors. I gave my seven day rotation a refresh on the coticule and stropped them. They tree top again and I should be good for another year now with regular stropping maintenance. Thanks Lynn for providing us with great products.

To be honest TC, I'm not even sure. It's an Ali's blade obviously, but he doesn't give much details on his webpage. All I know is he calls it Fat Kamisori 55mm. Hammered tang, and polished blade faces. I'm assuming the 55mm is the blade length putting it right around 2 inches, which is something I really like. It's a Damascus blade, but I'm not sure what specific type you would call it. Also the grind is Asymmetrical, but I hope I can still use it like a standard western ground razor. I'm going to have to watch some vids and read some threads on this. I hope he sends some info and maybe a certificate with it. I emailed Evnpar and asked what I can expect in the package when it arrives. I believe he has 2 of Cedrics razors, so I'll have to wait until he replies.

Well that's more than I knew a hour ago , thanks , as to the asymmetrical grind, you can perform acrobatics and use the one side or do like I've done and use both , it's just an angle thing that you work out by paying attention, mine shaves extremely close.

OK, that's what I thought. I'll have to play around with angles. I think the beards coming off for a weekend when this baby shows up.

I have a Robert sorby roughing gouge on the way. Finally have all the things I need for my lathe to start turning brushes. I'm doing odd beginner things like honey dippers first to get comfortable with the tools. Then there's a handful of razors, a 9x2 thuringian, a jnat and some slabs of horn in honey and brown for scales. I finally found a supplier of horn cylinder large enough to turn shaving brushes with, but they don't restock until summer, but I'm on the list to get notified when it arrives.
