Yessir my first monkey tail since my SRP WILLIAMS BLADE and sole Depew. Sadly the honing over the years has given it a very sloped profile I thought was reflection in the pic.
Barely a razor now, and may fall prey to mad science experiments that span countries..

Love the tail though..and love those strop wraps. What a great idea..

Good thinkin' and cool works of art razorfeld!
Well Richard was there 'back in the day' maybe he's been having flashbacks!

I believe this was the song that was played in that Gene Hackman movie when he tried to rescue his son and other POW's. It was playing when he said 'their back' meaning the vets who served with his son in Nam.

Seriously, Richard is a bit old for all of that! He is, by profession, a fabric artist (among other, less savory titles) and does some whole wall things, I think! Wish I could see some other examples of his work? He seems to have a plethora of fabrics!

Awesome vid clip cedar Under! Sometimes coincidences are creepy. Recently rebuilt/refurbished my old Technics turntable from the 70's, dug out a stack of old vinyl about 6 feet high and the first album I put on while digging thru them was Heavy Cream!
Man, what talent in that band! They don't make music like that no more!

I won't ask what my unsavory titles might be. This is polite company here. And yes, I have a ____pot of fabrics. From solids to crazy. Here are a few examples of my "whole wall things."

A few months ago I contacted a newbie who was interested in learning this age old art but hadn't gotten a razor yet. I offered to loan him two beginner razors. I told him that if he decided that this art was for him that he could buy either or both for $20 ea. I also told him that if he found that this art wasn't for him he could just mail the razors back to me. He was overjoyed and most appreciative. He picked up a strop and began the journey.

I hadn't heard from him for quite some time and since more than once I'd been burned while trying to help I once again contacted him asking about his progress and the loaner razors.

He apologized as life had thrown him some curve balls but he was still trying to learn when he had the time. He reassured me that he would never rip anyone off.

Some time would pass before he finally decided that he really preferred one razor over the other and I again offered it to him for the small amount and just asked that he ship the other loaner home.

Today the non preferred razor showed up along with a check substantially more than the amount than I'd asked for.

It's times like this that warms my heart and helps heal the pain from the times that others kept loaner razors and just 'dissipated into thin air' never to be heard of again.
I got this in from the member whom I'd loaned the razors to:

    "Roy,

I'm glad everything got there in one piece!

I really appreciate your loaners and advise for me as I engage in this. Your advice and assistance has been simply invaluable, and you helped make this fun and interesting.

I will be in touch and I'm going to try to be on the forum a little more, but that all depends on my work and free time.

I look forward to continuing our correspondence, and I will rely on your advice in the future."

Wow, Razorfeld. Impressive work there. From the hours my wife puts in to similar projects, I can appreciate the time involved.
