Thanked: 127A Mk33 in 7/8", wow thats a nice Razor
Dont know how it is in the Rest of the World but in Germany many postmen take days of lieu because of the christmas business were many overtimes had been made, maybe a reason why my zuboras stayed three days now in Erlanger for labeling.
But theres another Razor on the way to me, a Feather Frameback with metal scales, i sure it arrives tomorrow or i have to drive to the customs.

I wasn't expecting anything in the mail but that's not how things went.
While I was shaving I heard the sound of the lid of my mail box plop down and I knew that the mailman was early.
I found a small USPS Priority shipping box and I recognized the sender's name but I wasn't expecting anything from him.
Upon opening the box I found a wonderful array of exotic woods all cut about 1/8" thick.
I thought and thought and I couldn't remember anything about this situation and being sure that I was being stricken with Dementia or Alzheimer's I emailed the sender to see how I had received such things.
As the old saying goes; What goes Round Comes Round.
Seems he'd read my thread about my retirement and remembered that I'd honed some of his razors N/C when he was first starting out and he'd decided to 'pay me back' with the scale blanks.
While my skills with making scales isn't much compared to others I'll try to make him proud of my work!
I have never ever expected anything in return for my offers of help but with that said I have been blessed with receiving 'physical things' but More Importantly I've been blessed with receiving 'Friendships' friendships that no amount of money could ever buy!!Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Always nice to get surprises in the mail! So what type of woods did you get?

The species of the woods aren't important and by specifying what they are would go against the spirit of my post.
All I will say is that they are all very different and his gift is very much appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
