I think I'm going to test the Zulu versus my Greek Vermio on two identical Torreys to see which one wins.

Jerry-What brand are those 1,2 and 4k hones?
I’ve been very happy with my Vermio after coticule. I am waiting on your report comparing the Vermio-finished edge to a Zulu finish.

I've gotten some exquisite edges off the Vermio after a Nani 12k. But yeah, as I'm finishing up two nearly identical razors, I think that will be a good experiment.

I always thought it would be very interesting if an expert honer took a bunch of identical blades and finished them on all the popular natural finishers, followed by an identical stropping regimen to eliminate that variable, and then published detailed notes on how they compare. Someone needs to get a pile of generic, same 5/8" Solingen blades or something similar and try this.

There is a thread where Glen took someone’s seven day set and did just that. It’s an interesting and entertaining thread.

While not razor related I think this has some points of intrest:

Back in the 70's there was an article in I 'think' Hot Rod Magazine or Car Craft about how there were something like seven identical camaro's that were modified exactly the same for racing different types of races and tracks.

All the engines were were machined exactly the same by the same shop, all parts were the same. This also applied to the transmissions, suspensions, tires etc.

So all seven cars were 'Identical'-----------

However there was ONE CAR that ran faster and it didn't matter on what type of course or driver.

There was 'Something' that was different about that car even though it had received the same treatment as all the other cars.

I'm just thinking that while 'Identical Razors' from a 7 day set, that 'Maybe' they wouldn't be so 'Identical' in the end--

    Those are great grips!

This has been with me a while. Maker of the grips retired, I wanted a set just like them...had to settle. They always have to mean something!

Those are built like a tank! You can lighten them up with aftermarket stock.
