Very cool piece Tom. I’m sure you will make space for it in the museum.

Waterville Cutlery Celebrated razor. I like the eagle and flag scales although the wire has got to go. I wonder if they were painted before. If they were you can't see any evidence of it now.

Edit: I wonder if the FLAG was painted.

I couldn't find any tangerine shaving soap without a bunch of other stuff so i got some oil to add to unscented soap to try it out.

I bought this small lot at an auction virtually sight unseen. I could see that the blade only one had chips but the other two were closed. I took a chance and bid a low bid and wound up winning. After getting a look I think it was worth it.

Geo. Wostenholm & Son IXL, Washington works so no earlier than 1848, probably after '49, nice etching, probably not original scales. And also...

Wade & Butcher "The Celebrated Feather Edge Concave Razor For Barber's Use." Just over 8/8ths. Yeah, the chips SUCK but...whataya do? Seeing as I got it for roughly $5.00 I think I can learn to live with it. I've got just the right vintage FBU square end scales for it.

HAD strikes again. Our new(ish) friend Cattleman started a thread "vintage hones" and looking for examples for him of what to buy I found this little stone.

Well...... I couldn't pass it up. I love these calico Washitas for bevel set. The silica is so tightly bound together that the normally scratchy bevel plane left by other stones is frosty instead. It's a little smallish...

Ever seen a grown man cry?...

I was pulling it out of the drawer and the tab that hangs down and prevents the drawer from pulling out grabbed the edge of the box and flipped it out of my hand onto the tile. This was a perfect stone too in immaculate condition and a great finisher, a little short but still excellent.
    So what did I do?...

Went to Dan's and bought an 8X2 in a box. No picture yet since the one you see is the one you buy which is now (since I bought it) not on the site to grab a picture of. Shoulda got a screenshot when I had the chance. Pics on arrival.

Paul, my heart goes out to you. I dropped a hybrid coticule rubbing stone. The sinking feeling in my gut was profound and it was only a little 1.5 inch square rock.
