Thanked: 154Preach, brother
People think that shaving with a straight takes longer because of stropping (or wet shaving in general because you have to work a lather), little do they know about the real struggle.
And then you have people like Crisanto who post perfectly matched combos like they would wear a haute couture ensemble everyday and even have the time to snap a quality picture.Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

No kidding! Hard to justify giving him featured SOTD every single day. But then again how can you not? I wonder just how many 14 razors he has let alone how many Fili's....

Help me! I'm a sick, sick man!
Yet ANOTHER Ark. But it was a 6" X 2" boxed calico Washita. How could I resist?...HAD is an ugly thing.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Man, I never got the HAD really. Got some stuff that worked and a bit more. Just quit. Lots like to hone and experiment. Not I !
It's like, work."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

I know! Aint it GREAT!?!?
That completes my progression of large Arks bevel set to finish: 6" calico, 6" No 1, 8" Lily White, 6" trans, 8" Black.
Yeah it is definitely work. That full Ark progression is an escpe for me though. It's a different sort of work than what running a business is. It does for me what yoga or running does for some people. Not for everybody I know but it is theraputic for me.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 09-15-2024 at 10:40 AM.

If I had time to hone, I did enjoy it. Mostly, the results, I suppose. I have lots to hone but cannot seem to find time to dedicate to it.
I do have several too many hones I intended to try but tend to stick with my tried and true stuff. No time to experiment.
Gee...I have not honed a razor in 3 years or more...........
In this economy, every minute counts."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Yeah Tom, I hear you. As a small business owner I totally get it. Retirement for me at least only happens in the eternal sense and vacations are only permanant ones. But, if you're like me, it's the path we've chosen and, good or bad, we wouldn't trade it. That's why those little things that are a release or escape are important to help stave off burnout. Especially in a service business the on call stuff can really take its toll. I don't even take the late calls any morw. I did it for over 30 years and I'm too old for that.
That's why I like to hone because it's like Calgon: "take me away." I think you should pick uo those stones and hone something for you mental health. I highly recommend it.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17
