Thank you, I would only use them on the fabric which is attached as needed over the leather with the magnets so if it turned out to be a problem I wouldn't be doing anything too permanent with it.

I have been talking with this guy for over a week before buying and he seems to know his stuff. He uses the same strop daily and uses the same crayons apparently, it seems they are good quality and not from the fleabay or Amazon.

He is a strop company not just a guy who knocked it up one afternoon so I am feeling pretty optimistic.

He's also in the GTA so that helps a lot with the price and shipping.

He can shave a single hair into 5 strands, that seems pretty sharp to me and if he can do it with his hones and this strop - I'm sold

    I posted the vid.

It comes with 5 pieces of fabric (cotton twill I believe) and some felt too.

I can also get more from him if I need it.

The gaskets were a surprise gift from a good friend, so when I'd written to thank him he asked if I'd found a HD 'Poker Chip' in with them and I hadn't.

I'd cleaned up the Garage/Shop of all the trash, dust etc earlier today and got things re-organized and I didn't see the padded envelope anywhere, I looked inside and no envelope so I went dumpster diving and couldn't find it there so I was quite befuddled.

Back to the shop and I started looking under things that I could remember handling earlier and there under my knee pads on top of a tool chest was the envelope.

Am I damn glad he asked about the chip as it was in a bottom corner and I doubt that I'd have found it and it would have been tossed.

Now to put it away with the others--before I do another dumb stunt again

Jerry, it's nicely made and I'm hoping it will become a very useful piece of kit.
