    I was looking at that one you picked up and planning a road trip to the States this fall but decided I couldn't wait an ordered it, duty be damned.
    I was thinking it will make packing up for GTG's a lot easier as well. Each drawer can be dedicated to a country, the British drawer, German, American, etc...Bottom drawer is Canada and will be the melting pot for all the other works in progress.
    I think I am going to wire mine up with some dual brightness led strips in lie of the dessicant packs. Will provide some gentle warmth and keep humidity away while providing internal accent lighting for when the drawers are open. If I mount a spring contact to the upper lid I can have an open and closed mode that should add to the esthetics. Wire it up as 12 vdc and have a removable transformer pack that plugs in to the lower rear corner.
    Will post a shave den upgrade when it's all said and done.

    So realising that I am trying to 'bend like the willow in the wind' in my old age I have taken another look at the on-suite bath I share with SWMBO. A few new shelves still needed to accommodate the soaps and scents that can live in the lav itself, and this ordered today to accommodate the razors and accessories associated with them.

    This box, similar to the Windsor Design from Harbour Freight, has a larger mid box drawer, and a smaller footprint so will fit perfectly on my bureau beside the humidor.
    A week or so and it will be here.
    Cheers..
    [/Quote] That chest is very nice where did you get it? Do you keep some of your razors in a humidor. I started to but its a small one

    The chest was through Amazon;
    TRINITY TWM-3501 Wood Toolbox, Brown - - Amazon.com
    And I had all my razors in our lower 2 pc bathroom in cabinets but am moving it all back upstairs now.
    The humidor @ 70% relative humidity is for my cigars not my razors.
    I figure even though they will be side by side, with both closed neither should affect the other's R.H. much. Will still be drier environment than the bathroom itself with the shower and all. The lighting install inside should guarantee it stays dry in the Trinity box as well.
    Cheers.

    Saw that one, think the price was around $1,200 bucks....I took the $75.00 shipping included Windsor designs model, it's for holding razors, not lugging heavy tools around...the Gerstner's are gorgeous though, Ultrasoundguy was the one who started the whole razor chest idea, and he has the Gerstner.

    +1 to what Phrank said. I love the look and timeless quality of the Gerstner as well, but can't justify the price for something I want to modify anyway. Solid construction and a lockable front cover are all I was looking for, at around what I'd spend on a razor needing restoration.
    The Trinity is 10 lbs heavier than the Windsor so I presume it to be thicker lumber by an 1/8th maybe.
    Will see when it arrives.. Am looking forward to it..
