A little package arrived from B52 today! A little while back I started restoring a Hess "Otto's Special Wedge". I made some scales for it but needed the logo on there. Well, Mike was gracious enough to help me out. Got the scales back today and the logo looks AWESOME! He really did a superb job with that kicked up router of his. Talk about skills and attention to detail. I can't wait to put the razor together!

And if that's not cool enough, there was a surprise in the package too. He sent a gorgeous pen that he turned out of wood from a 2000 year old olive tree from Bethlehem. And these trees are still living!!! This is by far the finest pen I have ever owned. Beautiful! Uh-oh, I sort of feel like another acquisition disorder may be starting.

Cheers to MikeB52, he's quite a guy, going above and beyond 110% through and through. Thanks Mike!

Was a fun challenge to do and I'm happy you like the results Tuzi.

The pen 'turned' out pretty nice as well, and is my favorite style to make as its a good weight and size in the mitt when writing. That olive looks like I made it all wavy, but I didn't. It's the crazy grain doing that, the pen is quite smooth, profile-wise..

Look forward to seeing the completed razor in the SOTD. Good luck buddy!

I'm 99% sure some of you fine gents have been bidding on this beauty, but it just had to be mine. I have another, to fill this pretty case. I'm really excited about this one, my first straight just got a sister.

As the time passes, so we learn.

You gotta find the plateau, men. Look at what you HAVE, not what's on Ebay.
That and run out of dough for it.
