Good Morning Gentlemen!

Well the news traveling thru the SRP grapevine is that the Medina Conference was a huge success. In reading the postings of some of the attendees, you can just "feel" what a good time they had. A big congratulations and Thank you to all who put forth the effort to have this event. I remain flattered to be part of such a great community!

Reading back thru my previous post "about the bottle" selection I realized it may have sounded as though I was throwing you to the dogs and I didn't mean for it to sound that way. Obviously there are still no links posted for you......but what I meant to say is that I will select out of the 100 (no joke) companies that I have looked at, and list three or four. I will point you to the bottle choices that I think will work best, but I still remain unsure about the dispensing method..... For so many of the bottles the only choice is to just "pour". Or perhaps you will decide on a disc cap like what comes on the test bottles now, or maybe a flip top spout.

I continue to search for orifice reducers that will work in a 4 oz. boston round. Who would have ever dreamed that task would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I spent several hours on Saturday evening looking at more companies, and low and behold right on the verge of giving up I may have found both orifice reducers and bottles that I REALLY like. The company has no email address, so I will be calling them later today after returning from the "Doctor".........please say a prayer. Things here at home remain on shaky ground at best.

Ending on a positive note though, I have a new helper coming today with Preema in tow, to give her a few short hours of training. And perhaps I can begin to get myself caught back up with orders and we can put the SRP Aftershave and soap on the fast track to success.

Actually, I think it arrived last Friday, but I just got back from a conference.

A couple of posts back you mentioned a red and a clear...I got a red and a blue (plus the EDT). I've not yet tried either, but both are fully separated. The red into two clear layers; the blue into a cloudy yellow with a milky layer on top. When shaken, both are white(ish); the blue with a yellow hue.

Anyway, can't wait to start another round of testing.

well....shi$$ .... and I tried so hard this time. After you removed the tape from around the lid was there any colored tape left on the bottle? On the plastic baggie it came in......what did the writing say on the outside ?

Yes.....they are separated, so you'll have to do that old song "Shake, shake, shake.....shake, shake, shake....shaaaaaake your boootie" LOL

Hey Joe! Thanks for the redo on the picture. It looks very nice! I have trouble with light colored labels wanting to reflect the light and haven't quite figured that out yet.

The EDT was in a plastic bag marked EDT; the red taped bottle in a bag marked red; and the blue taped bottle in a bag marked..........'Clear'.

I tried the red today. SWEET!!! I like the scent (although it is stronger than I typically like for an AS); I'll try using a bit less to see if that helps. I dearly love the soothing properties. It's been dry and cold here lately (I know it's all relative) and I also shaved very close this morning too...no dry skin, no irritation. My initial take is that this is a winner, but I'll continue to test and get the ladies opinion on the scent.

First....RichZ I haven't forgotten about you !! I've been waiting for a shipment (raw material ) that is obviously not going to show up until I mail your little box, so I'll do that today and then follow up with back to back shipments "just for you" because you have had to wait so long.

Ed, I'm most pleased to hear that you like one of the AS's I've been getting some nice comments on this round, and I do feel more confident that the scents are becoming more full bodied instead of the staged flat scenario.

As time has passed I've scent out odd little samples of this and that on the AS's that all of you have tested and have received positive comments on the Aftershave's, and even from one Gentlemen who like the "high test" Menthol and said it was right up his alley....

So we are at "scent and bottle" selection and label design....... I know this has been a long time coming and I know it isn't easy to continue to test things as it becomes more like a job but all of your comments and efforts are almost on the table This is sorda like a havin a baby ain't it.... time for another big push...

On a good note with the passing of time, more and more companies have realized the need of the HUGE growing market in Men's Skincare and repeated requests for suitable containers for Aftershaves and shaker tops or sprinkler type openings for the neck finish.

THE PHOENIX LINE
The Cosmetic Packaging Group, a division of O.BERK Company, is reintroducing The Phoenix Line of four rectangular-shaped flint glass bottles ranging in size from 15 ml through 120 ml. The 15 ml, 30 ml, and 120 ml Phoenix bottles are available with open and sprinkler finishes, which are ideal for packaging after shave lotions and colognes. In addition, there is a 60 ml bottle with an 18/415 finish. The Phoenix Line offers the freedom to select optional frosting, custom colors, numerous closures, as well as great flexibility in decorating.

The above is brand spanking new......I'm not sure what their minimum pc. is on this, but the bottles are very nice. A heavy glass, masculine, rectangular in shape and has a very small opening for a sprinkler finish. I am still waiting for a response from either my enquiry by email or the phone call I just placed and left a message.

This company also sent me samples which arrived yesterday and it's an interesting bottle, still not sure about the opening.....but I've attached pictures for you to see the differences in shape and finish, compared to the next available line of choices which harken back to our original selection but now with the addition of orifice reducers.

The first photograph shows a selectionn of amber bottles......look closely, there are two different bottles, both 4 oz. in size (118 ml ). the style is commonly referred too as Boston Round. The Amber bottle from O.Berk is a boston round but is also called an "Apothecary" because of the opening which distingishes it from the others; which is called a pour, because it has a lip. It is also taller than the other bottles but the overall shape is the same.

The other bottles, both amber and clear selection are also boston rounds. Not quite as tall and the wall of the glass is thinner. These bottles are available in clear, clear amber, frost, and frost amber....with the ability to choose different lids for the same bottle creating different looks. Due to repeated requests ( and I'm happy to report that I called at least 20 times ) sks bottle company now offers orifice reducers for most of its collection.

The other difference in the bottles is the lid itself. With the line of Apothecary bottles, the lid is larger than that of the regular style of boston rounds.

So....what do you think, Gentlemen ??

Not a big fan of the Boston rounds, but the apothecary adds some visual interest so it is a real improvement. I won't begin to say what went through my mind when reading about orifice reducers... Let it be noted that they had better fit well; if one ever let loose, I'd wager that you would be looking at a lost customer--no complaints, no comments, just no future orders.

As mentioned during our last review of potential bottles, my tastes run toward the square/rectangular style; added points if the bottle is heavy or looks to be old style glass. I know, I know...what I'm suggesting is prohibitively expensive. What can I say, I've high end tastes .
