tc: thanks for the generous offer. I bought the sample that I mentioned above so I will soon know how well I like it.
Thanks for the help, everyone seems the rate MDC very high. Do you have a favorite Bay Rum scented brand?

jmercer: thank you also I will try The Old Town Shaving Company.

was a person selling 1oz samples. I like the bay rum fragrance so I tried to find a seller of Colleen bay rum with no success. Thank You - Tom Du Jardin
    Tom,
I see my friends beat me to it. Yes, you can get it directly from France, or from the Old Town Shaving Company, in Pasadena, California. Martin de Candre is good stuff. By the way, that photo was taken of me holding the biggest Rooney brush I have ever seen. For some reason I can't upright the photo.

    Dave,

Thanks, my friend. No matter what I did, the bloody computer kept making faces at me. So I scratched my head and had another cup of coffee. OY!

No problem, by the way, which of the MdC is your favorite?

Not that I need more soaps....but

    Dave,
I have the original one. I think Martin de Candre calls it "scented." I have not tried the other scents, because I love this one too much. The scent is intoxicating. One of these days I will have to break down and order the other scents. I usually lather up with Martin de Candre on Sunday using my Wiborg brush — the best with the best.

Thanks Obie! Off to spend some more money

This thread has been costly, but so worth it with the amazing soaps and creams Ib now have to use.

    You are very welcome, Dave.
I know what you mean by "costly." Than again, for me, that's the best part of traditional shaving: making luxurious lather with a sweet brush and soap or cream with heavenly fragrance.

    Couldn't agree more Obie.
The only place to get the "scented" is from France it seems.....

I was lucky enough to pick up a tub of Lavender Creeper and matching aftershave when it hit THB's site. I have to say, the hype is pretty justified, if not the current asking price. The aftershave is not only a triple lavender blend, but it is barrel-aged, which ended up being a fantastic idea. I hope more companies try this technique.
