I'm assuming the rarity of the soap and difficulty in getting it adds to the allure. I really like the stuff, but is it better than say, Proraso, by 6 fold? Depends on how in tune to soaps you are I guess. I don't have the experience to judge like others here can.
But hey, I myself admit there's comething cool about having a high end soap that came from France herself sitting in my medicine cabinet.

Well today was the first shave with M.D.C. I was a little skeptical with all the urban legands regarding this soap. I've been let down with other must haves, but boy this stuff is all that it's cracked up to be. Lather, cushion it's just wonderful stuff.

    Nice...
You know as I use it I like it more and more. Not that it isn't good the first time out, but I really noticed it when I went back to my old stuff just for grins. Only then did I really feel the difference.

Ditto! A fine friend( ) ordered an extra and sent along to me. My first shave was very nice. The scent was different as smelling the jar. Kindof smoky/minty. As shaving, the scent is light and invigorating. So little of the product is necessary to attain a pile of lather that I now have to create a proper minimal snurdler for it. Expensive, yes. A value, I definitely think so.
    Nice stuff! Thanks, Darl!

First, a big thanks to all who contributed to this thread, getting me interested in Martin de Candre Soap. Top of class describes the lather, shave and fragrance (like a great shave soap). Regarding shipping, I ordered three tubs and the total price, including shipping, worked out to $56 per tub. If a tub lasts one year, that's cheaper than many soaps and creams. Thanks!
