30km Bike ride today. Kept the past to my limits the whole way. Felt like a damn good workout. Still puffed. Might just lie down and have a heart attack now.

Thirty kays! Are you serious! I haven't posted here much lately because it's just bouldering, bouldering and more bouldering. However, I'm going to get my bike soon so maybe I'LL be riding 30 kays too!

30 Kay is just getting started when you're on a bike Carl. I would consider that to be the equivalent of going for a 5 Kay jog. Not something I've done for some years myself, but I never felt a 5 Kay jog to be really getting into it when I did run regularly. I'm going to try for another ride session tomorrow sometime if I can fit it in. I need to do something that's for sure!

Five kilometers used to be part of the army's basic fitness test (BFT). The fastest I ever did it is 20:59; I was never a fast runner. Used to like an 8k cross country really, esp though the Wagga Wagga botanical gardens back in '95 when I was a Recruit Instructor there... It's probably changed a lot now, but back then there were a few trails you could follow with ever changing scenery and conditions...

I used to enjoy cross country. I never enjoyed PT...And I hated it during basic training. I was always stuck behind the bloke who would vomit. And once the bugger ever soiled his britches. If it wasn't for the bloke behind me keeping me going I would have been retching in the ditch beside the smelly bloke! As it was this fella failed the physical fitness side of things. he went out with a bang. Quite literally! Rolled off the high wall on the obstacle course. Rifle slung across the back. Landed on it and it let off a blank round. He had to be stretchered out with spinal injuries.
That reminds me of the bloke who went for a leak in the bush on exercise one night. He picked up his F88 Steyr and created the prettiest arc of fire I've ever seen. Started barrel down and did a perfect 360° up over the head and behind him back to the ground again. Geez, I was impressed with the rate of fire. 30 rounds just like that, and a bloke who wishes he had put the lock out button to better use. 30 counts of UD. That was an expensive leak for him. All the other blokes (and me) skippin' and fetchin' and divin' fer cover.

Another 35kms clocked up today after dropping off the littlest at Kindy. Finding the time is harder during winter. So much less light in the early mornings, which is when I like to be out and about doing exercise type things. I'm going to try and get out on the board over the weekend for something different. I think it's going to be two days off now, as the youngest will be chained to my ankle at home.
Been wanting to join this 24/7 gym just up the road from me. Just can't afford their fee's right now. When I do join, then I'll be able to switch it all around a little more.

And then I walk a few laps around the track to cool down....my gym is in an indoor facility....there's a track around the two big basketball courts...there was the women's advanced aerobics class, and they were bustin' some moves to this old tune...was hard to cool down if'n' you know what I mean:
