Only went 2.25 miles, but that was tough enough.

I usually run 3-4 miles in the morning, and in the summer I'll mix in some biking. I biked 20 miles on Thursday after work and again on Friday. Ran 3 miles this morning. I try to do 3-4 miles in around 45 minutes in the morning. In good weather, I'll run in the morning then do a quick 1.5 hr bike ride in the afternoon/evening.

@MickR... wasn't the bullets out there, it was the rockets. Many times I'd be running in the morning when the rocket alarms went off. Had a few hit pretty close. When you're running to a bunker, your mile time drops significantly!!

Yesterday was a ride to Woodside and back (24Ks) in the morning and an hour and a half of bouldering in the afternoon. This morning it was a ride to Charlseton (10Ks) in 44 minutes followed by a walk in the forest with the dog (below) followed by a walk to the park with my grandson Bailey. In between I squeezed in some time sitting in the sun reading Keats...

12 miles bike ride along Hollywood beach, pre dawn to sunrise. Good for the soul.

You guys kill me! I aspire to such rides, but for now it's (slowly) building endurance and increasing distance... and, no less important, developing the confidence to push the envelope (while respecting my older body). Don't get me wrong -- I enjoy the naturally-occurring increases in distance, but I'm still very much aware of the small difference between pu(ni)shing. I'll get there... closer/farther/faster... but it might will probably be later, rather than sooner.

    Smooth shaving... and riding, too.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

It takes time but it comes around. Staying with it is the key. I started in my late 30s and my wife in her 40s. Took some time but we enjoy the ride and let the time and distance fall where they may
