From here that blade looks really nice. I hand it to you for being inventive and getting such nice results!

The restore is for an old wosty, there was a diversion to a change in technique on a Beckher that I wanted to prove before using it for the wosty. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the clarification! No apologies necessary, as I said I'm easily confused! That one you have completed looks fantastic. Your drum sander idea has got me thinking (generally never a good thing). I've got a spare drill, hummmm. Great work so far and I'm looking forward to watching you proceed through the rest of the restore.

    Cheers

The Beckher still shows light pitting, but that was by choice. That blade is so dang thin to start with, any more would have compromised it. I am super happy with the results of the cork drum. I have about a dozen or so razors that need restored, and this should speed up the process. The Wosty for a Member is getting polished up tonight I hope.

Very important to not let the metal heat up. Use a slow speed and not much pressure.
I keep my finger on the the other side of the blade.

    And remember safety first!
Make sure the rotation of the drum is from the spine to the bevel edge!

One more 600 ought to get rid of the rest of the 400 scratches.

    Enough for tonight.
So do I leave it matte on the blade and mirror on the rest? Or all mirror.
    Please chime in.
