Helge my friend; having taken pics along the way makes it wayyyyyy easier to put things back together--especially if the project has to be set aside for longer than planned!

Trust me! I know as my Harley was torn down wayyyyy longer than anticipated and there were a couple of times I had to think about re-assembly more than I should have! :gaah:

Pictures would have eliminated that little snafu. :tu

When Ruth was pregnant with my son I was trying to get a 327 rebuilt and reinstalled in a 68 chevelle before his birth.
One of the few saved kids videos I have from back in the day. Every night I would film a quick work bench pan shot just in case Ruth went in to labour at midnight and I forgot where I was.
Last minute of video is me having the engine back in the car getting ready to fire it up for the first time.
I have Ruth on video saying “mike, it’s time” and me saying yup just need to prime it. To which my loving bride replied, “no, it’s time to have the baby...” video ends suddenly at that point...

Lit up the engine later that night, no exhaust header installed yet, around midnight.. had a numbers matching working classic ride and a new baby boy..and angry neighbors briefly...

And ya know, I’m going to have to dig that video out, it’s still super8 or vhs or whatever it was back in 94 but worth converting..

My issue was picking-up the wife and newborn in a red Turbo Trans-Am.
Poor mom had to crawl into what they called a back seat. Baby rear-facing in front.

Brings to mind my mother going to town to pick up boards in a 67 or 68 chevy 4 door. The drivers door didn't open so she had to crawl out the window because the boards were through the passenger side front back to the rear.

She was pregnant with my youngest brother at the time.........

I was adopted from birth. Old man took me home in a '56 buick 4-holer 2 door. Lying right atop the front seat.
I want one some day.
Mom and grandparents were anxiously waiting at home.
Knowing the old fart as I came to know him, he likely stopped-off at a few bars and his girlfriend to show me off.

In the late 80’s a had a Yamaha street bike from the early 70’s that I had gotten as a basket case. I put it all back together and road it a lot. While out for a ride I spotted my mother’s car at the fried chicken place. I stopped by to see what was up. She was was with my girlfriend and cheerfully announced the that my girlfriend had contractions five minutes apart. I got a little panicked and said, what are doing. My mother smiled and said we are getting take out chicken and heading over to the hospital.
