So a gemstone in a razor-tang is some bling I have not thought of........ Not for me, I suppose.

I've set emeralds and topaz in knife handles, and I've set rubies and other stones in razors.
For this project the customer wanted emeralds which iirc is his birthstone. No, this razor is not for ouy Shaun, but yes Shaun, I have more of those emeralds. I'keep it in mind when I am starting with my sketch book.

I currently have 2 razors in progress that features gemstones: this one, with big emeralds in the tang, and another one in full wootz, with blue topaz in the tail.

This blade has been reshaped, right? Iust making sure it isn't a strange variant I haven't seen before. Looks like someone 45ed the heel to remove a chip.

I'm by no means an expert but that's sure what it looks like.

I've got to reshape a toe myself. I have a Tory Razor that was shortened just enough to look to short for it's scales when I got it, so I removed the scales and used them on a naked blade I had. Decided to do a little hand polishing before re-scaling the Troy and as luck would have it, i dropped it on my tile floor and now it will get it's toe reshaped. Again.

JP5 that is totally modified heel. Some of the Japanese makers did fairly abrupt heels at an angle but I have never seen an NOS razor with a heel quite like that.

Looks like someone didn't like honing into the stabilizers or them getting in the way

Been busy... Fence in the back yard, renovating my sister bathroom, still fixing shingles from the wind storm 3 weeks ago, and of course some brushes.

Thanks. I poured this one myself with a PVC mould, poly resin, and some mica powder for coloring. It's a lot of fun.
