The razor is a good one, the slabs you have chosen are pretty spectacular.

One of my favorite cars Nessmuck!

Visited the folks this weekend, but didn't do any razor work. Maybe next time.

Getting ready for the 2018 BLADE SHOW.

    This:
https://straightrazorpalace.com/cust...ck-scales.html But I posted it in the wrong area. Trying to create something uniquely French-looking as scales for a French blade.

    Looking for straight razors.
Seller says he needs $300 for this one because it is ivory.

Looks like molded plastic, to me...

I concur but I've only handled one Ivory set of scales. What I do notice is that it looks like there's a washer at the pivot and a good friend who's done several sets of scales in ivory told me that typically ivory is pinned washerless but there again----------

It is most likely not ivory. I have heard that from a few antique dealers over time and when you politely disagree they get all bent and try to tell them how long they have been in the business. I actually laughed when one of them said they have likely bought and sold more ivory razor then I have seen. I simple said I have pictures of my collection in my phone if you want to compare experience. Apparently I am quite rude.

99% sure it was plastic. Considered telling him, but decided against it. Nice razor in pretty good shape though.
    Not $300 nice though!
