Thanked: 4827The razor is a good one, the slabs you have chosen are pretty spectacular.

Thanked: 315One of my favorite cars Nessmuck!
Visited the folks this weekend, but didn't do any razor work. Maybe next time.

This:
https://straightrazorpalace.com/cust...ck-scales.html But I posted it in the wrong area. Trying to create something uniquely French-looking as scales for a French blade.

Thanked: 315Looking for straight razors.
Seller says he needs $300 for this one because it is ivory.

Looks like molded plastic, to me...

I concur but I've only handled one Ivory set of scales. What I do notice is that it looks like there's a washer at the pivot and a good friend who's done several sets of scales in ivory told me that typically ivory is pinned washerless but there again----------

Thanked: 4827It is most likely not ivory. I have heard that from a few antique dealers over time and when you politely disagree they get all bent and try to tell them how long they have been in the business. I actually laughed when one of them said they have likely bought and sold more ivory razor then I have seen. I simple said I have pictures of my collection in my phone if you want to compare experience. Apparently I am quite rude.

Thanked: 31599% sure it was plastic. Considered telling him, but decided against it. Nice razor in pretty good shape though.
Not $300 nice though!- Joshua
