Thank you for the kind words Jerry. I'm feeling like doing things again. For awhile there, my appetite wasn't like it normally is but now it's coming back & I hope it continues to do so. The doctor told me several things were going on but now I'm feeling like doing things so I plan on fixing my totaled 100th anniversary Harley. I want to ride again but not all the time like I was. That's why I finally got me another truck so I wouldn't be taking more chances with all the crazy people out there these days.
it's good to see all the nice work you guys are doing plus a few new people. I like seeing new people restoring old razors.

You don't need to be drinking, so I'm having a beer for ya right now. Good luck!

Be Well Steve. Jerry your photography is looking good as are the razors. It sounds like I’m not the only one that leaves honing until there is a monumental task to do.

Thanks, Shaun. I wish I could have gotten more shine to show on the scales. The Cellphone can only do so much I guess. They have a high gloss!

The thread is a little slow this morning so...

3 brushes. 2 Boss Synthetic Knots and 1 Tuxedo Synthetic Knot.
Cleaned up and glued. Added some quarters to the insides to get a 50mm loft.
I used them all 3 times at different lofts to see how much backbone I could get without the strands being too bundled up so they can still splay after some time. I found 50mm about the tightest I wanted to go. Glued with 5 minute Gorilla epoxy.

Well, I thought I would get my ivory scales that I bleached awhile back & put the Ern together & I noticed a yellowish tint on the tip of one of the scales after I had soaked them in baby oil which did make them come back to not being so white. Thanks Shaun for that tip about the baby oil, it worked & they were looking like they originally did. I have been feeding my other addiction lately, old pocket watches & I have this watch oil that is yellow & apparently I must have gotten a drop on the scales which were nearby & it looked as if the ivory absorbed a little bit so I'm soaking that one scale all over again to make it uniform. Once that is done, I'll repeat the baby oil treatment. Oh well, just a lesson learned.
I love my old pocket watches. My oldest one is a pre civil war 18k gold pocket watch that runs like it was new.
