Nice pen. It is good to see you turning again. You have pulled off some spectacular projects in the past complete with tutorials.

Thanks Shaun, felt nice to spend a few hours turning in the shop again. Cooler than upstairs too tonight. Pretty muggy in Ontario gents.
Almost have the bolsters fitted on that horn scale conversion I’ve been working on as well.
Hopefully that one will be done this weekend!

He should really appreciate that, coming from your hands, Mike!
You will get mileage for the rest of your life with all that stuff!
    Very Nice

Tom, I have a Pearce razor with scales like yours with the bolster on the wedge end & I like them a lot. Your razor came out great!

Interesting prototype Richard. Will that allow you cut scales like with a scroll saw, or will it have another purpose?

Mike, that is a beautiful pen and a great gift. I'll have to watch for more of your pens in the future. How long does it take you to turn and assemble a pen?

Googled alligator jawbone since I had never seen it used before. Certainly unique.

Wow, very impressive results, thanks for googling that.
I had no idea from the blanks it will look like that. Just moved up in cool factor for me.
I have the materials to make everything in that picture now, as well as engrave or monogram pretty much everything as well.
In theory, that 5th axis on my engraver should allow for text transfer, maybe even to pens.
Just need to put in the time to figure the math.

Regarding how long it takes per pen, the one in the picture, with a single turned barrel and no finish, hour and a half all in. Wood, or two barrel design, double that number.

I haven't been on the particular thread in awhile until earlier today & B52 Mike, you made out like a bandit!

I've had some health issues going on but now that I know some of what's going on, I'm feeling a little better. for awhile there, I thought my clock was going to stop but I have manipulated it to run longer. How long I don't know! I don't wish it on anyone.

Got these two finished up today. The "Needs Honed" cup is running over. Damn!

Both are Imperials. One in Marado and the other in Rosewood. Into, or, next to the Needs Honed cup they go.

I was surprised too. I figured it must have something appealing if they are selling them, but didn't expect to like the finished product as much as I did.
