Thanked: 4827Good luck to both you and your daughter Tom. Nowadays they often circle a few times and land back in the nest. As long as they are working and/or going to school I do not mind helping them as much as I can. I often wish I had a little more help here and there.

Help? You gotta be kidding! She does NOT want to be back home, but has to be.
Me and this child are like oil and water, Rez. She does not recognize me and my way of doing things.
I suppose it would help if I quit asking her if she was living in her car.....(THAT is what it looks like!)
She will spend her last dime on makeup, eating-out, and Itunes........Can't walk in her room.
If I say red, it must be blue. It all started with the theater and the drill-team.
Good kid.....Just needs to grow-up.

Thanked: 4827I have one of those too. Oil and water it was for many years. He is almost 30 and it looks like maybe I have finally learned a thing or two. HAR! They do typically grow out of it, so do take longer than others. A couple of years of having to shop at Value Village has helped him learn about money.

Thanked: 98I get big boy mules at my Colorado home. However, my midwest cabin goes unused most of the year. Luckily though I can still get in on some deprivation hunting and no matter the size refuse to leave anything behind. I tan a lot of hides. And though I don't tan myself I do skin myself. Not the best but my dogs love the scraps. I take a lot of deer each year and donate a lot of meat to soup kitchens and local charities.

I pray to god my daughter never does that! I'm worried about raising her in the current environment, plus universities are NOT balanced places of learning anymore ***very loaded subject ***
My son of 8 cries at everything. In my family our father would sew us up on the kitchen table without anesthetic. If we were out playing and got cut, if no bone showing no problem, rub some sand on the cut and play ball!!! Different world. And I'm a youngster.
Workshop Progress:
Setting up a central vac for dust removal at source.
I have a bunch of 2in PVC for free.
*Im wondering if I can find a cheap vac at goodwill? What are the best cheapest vacuums for this?
Any suggestions?“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Mike
Goodwill used to be a place to get some good deals & very few are anymore because they have gotten too much like pawn shops & want retail it seems for many things. You might get lucky. Have you ever heard of Freecycle? It's like Craigslist w/o the scammers & ya sign up, put down what you're looking for, but you must have something in return to give away to someone, something you don't need anymore. If someone has what you're looking for, it won't cost you anything. I've done it in the past but I mainly gave things away I didn't need anymore.

Okay thanks, I admit that it's been a while since I've been in goodwill.
I gotta make sure to get the vacuum system because I've had some issues with my lungs and need to stay keep wood particles out as much as possible.

Quit smoking that stuff Mike. Problem solved. Still a good idea about the dust control.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4206Educated just enough.. and paid for it myself, or at least paid back all the government loans I needed to do it, at the time.
Funny sad note is I wasn’t in my chosen field long enough to pay off the debt it took to accrue the required education. Carried through to millwrighting and took me 10 years in total to repay. But I did pay it all back..

Okay I located a used shop vac 5hp for $15 and the Dust Deputy costs around 50.
I've got the pvc pipe and will get some valves later.
Won't be so high tech with automatic power switch though, maybe later on that.
I have duct tape and pipe glue. And have a sawdust barrel 50gal.
Will be a work in progress but I think that will suffice.
Thanks Jerry, I quit smoking years ago, but working fiberglass without serious precautions was a mistake.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
