Great work, Jerry. Or do we title you with Gatling gun Jerry. Spitting out a few rounds with each turn of the crank, anymore. You've come quite a way, in a short time.

Will be waiting for a shave report on the razor, I believe you'll be impressed, if your edge is right
    Mike

    Gatling-gun is better, I think.

You guys are too kind. I think. Ha.
I can't compare to Machine-Gun Mike! But I try. It's fun. When I got the time.

As far as the shave report on the oldie, It was a fine shave. The only issue I found is I like to use the heal more than the tip of a razor. This caused a problem as I couldn't get the heal into those spots as the heal don't stick out. Besides that, I was very impressed with how easy it was to hone and the shave I got for something that old. And how well it was ground! The bevel was so nice and I think a lot of that was because of the way it was made. Attention to detail back then!

For the last 90 minutes, I've been cleaning up a Blade with synthetic steel wool and polish. So if your a new guy, and reading this, know that it can be done! You don't have to buy a buffer and with the right blade, no sandpaper is needed. It just takes time and a lot of elbow grease! And don't expect to get all the black off. Some is just too deep!

Joshua, My sander is the standard Harbor Freight Bench sander. Central Machinery®- item#97181
And the guys explained the size bit and why its needed. I like having the extra room encase I need to adjust just a bit and it makes putting things together easier. And by "OFF" I mean not exactly where I wanted it. Need a stronger bit so that wood grain wont push it off line so easy.

Gatling-Gun Jerry! Been looking for something but just hadn't come up with anything good. That might work.

What grade of steel wool do you use to polish?

I use 2 different grades of Synthetic Steel Wool. I dont like the real stuff as its just too messy. I start with the 000 (gray) and finish with 0000 (white) then polish with a couple rags half a dozen times working the polish.

I honestly have never heard of synthetic steel wool can you find it at regular hardware stores or is it an online thing?
