Work is taking so long! I have to pay the bills you know.

What you see on the right is Lacewood.

CA can be bought in different thicknesses. I get larger bottles at a hobby store. I use thin and medium. Depending on how fast i need it to dry or how much penitration i need. Hope that helps with the CA question.

Remember guys, i work a minimum of 70 hours a week so i can only do so much so fast. The cutting out part is fast and shows results quick. The rest take time because of work AND drying times at this elevation for finishes takes longer too. But hey, its all for fun.

Ok, got to get back in my rolling office with the fake (plastic) wood paneling and get another load.

I tried pvc and a couple other plastics. They just never made me feel right. Exotic wood and then use plastic for wedges? Its just not right. Plus, you got to remember, i play with gas all night long so the stink of bone is not normally noticed. As a matter of fact, the wife brought home a special home-made bar of soap today as she was out with a friend. She had me smell it. Nope. Not a scent at all. She said it was clover/lemon.

So glad to see someone doing projects! 70hrs a week and still getting time in? Puts many of us to shame! Lol

If using CA, you can use a fine mist of water to dry it faster. Don't know how dry it is out there but if it's not humid enough, maybe the air conditioner dries your air too much, then CA is slow to dry.

Fully agree on the pvc with natural materials, IMHO, just not right.
    I'm simply not that pragmatic...

Does misting with water affect the surface of the CA? If so, would a humidifier right next to where it is drying be a good idea?

One of my buddies uses a humidifier when he works with CA. Probably the best way.
When I misted it the surface was affected. I was putting on multiple layers and the last one I let dry without. Then sanded and buffed.
On future projects I'll find a good epoxy or something.. CA is a PITA IMHO.

Anybody know a great CA equivalent or better? Clarity, strength, and hardness..? Any new advancements in the last couple years?
