Way my luck is going.... I think of myself as a boat technician....

    Going out.
I would get out there, get a grin on my face.

The damn thing would die on me!

Tom, That was me with my old 2 stroke mercrusier 65. Half way cross the lake changed gas tanks only to realize I forgot to mix the oil before leaving the dock. Was an hr of rowing before someone saw me out there and took pity,, lol.
Beauty view Mike! What a sunset..

Radios are a must around here. Even a handheld VHF is important safety equipment. Safety first gents.

I've been there, Tom. Been able to do some kind of fix to save the day, most times. These newfangled motors are hooked up to more hoses n wires, than a patient in a ICU ward. Good ol magnito ignition, the workhorse of America. Though I like the CD ignition....simple.

Sharptonn, is that due to using a pin that was too long and bent instead of tightening on the ends like it should?

That's not lazy, that's just taken a well deserved break! Not the cat though, definitely just lazy. :P Take it easy Mike.

Going through the blades for maintenance and preservation and realized that I don't need a shop or even a work-station to finish some blades. Two words:
    Mobile Workstation
    Ohhhhhh yeah!
A hard case with rubber seal maybe 24"x18". Lockable.
For example when working on a blade I often prefer to simply use a small rounded block and sand papers of various grits.. hours of work that doesn't need a workshop..
Since my basement shop was cold and damp I often found myself sanding scales on my back porch.
I used to use a towel with canvas sewn on one side be able sand an item in my lap on the couch.
So I've got some tools to purchase, but should be able to get started soon I hope.

Any ideas on small tools that are handy, even perhaps indispensable .. and will fit inside the Mobile Workstation?
Your stuck on an island and you have this box of work tools.. What are they???

For working on blades and scales you could get away with very little. Box of sandpaper, wire cork to wrap sandpaper around, bottle of water, polish, mini anvil, small hammer, side cutters, needle nose, mini file. With that you do most all except for cut out blanks. Better throw in some tiny containers for washers, collars, pins.
    It's just Sharpening, right?
