Got my Burrell Top Flight into the scales. This will be a nice swap mechanically as the CMon blade is a touch longer than this one. It barely cleared the wedge without touching it and sometimes it did. Plenty room this way.

Took a while..I had pinned the CMon blade a long while back into these scales using Babur's collars. Since I want the collars same on both razors I had to pop-out the collars from the scales and take them out to a running bench grinder to take some off the OD so that they would fit under Austin's collars..Got it done!

The CMon will have to wait. Bad sinus headache send me home to shave with this puppy and lay around the house.
This is really unique. I look at this straight and close my eyes. I see an old barber's pole outside of a barber shop. When I walk into the barber shop, it's like being back in the 1900's. People are smoking cigars and talking about current events while the barber is giving a man a hot lather shave.

That's what I think of when I see this straight razor. How I wish that I could have experienced a trip to the barber shop like that and maybe some of the Victorian age events of the 1900's! Teddy Roosevelt would have been president at that time.

While waiting for the Imp, I decided to start on the 7/8 Wosty. Unpinned, cleaned the blade with 3M metal restorer, gave the scales a scrubbin, and tried Steve's iron trick a try on the scales.

I guess the heat lamp will only be reserved for plastic, and keeping my hands warm. It works extremely well, and very fast. Makes um hot n flexible, in seconds.

So a quick bog oak n epoxy repair on the couple chips, and we wait till tomorrow.

3M metal restorer? That looks to work well, I assume the auto parts shop?
I still need to get some more polish..

The Imp! I have one that I was checking out last night, such a petite thing! Never shaved with it yet. I think one would either love it or not with those.

Awesome stuff, Mike. It took about 10 minutes with a rag in hand, to do the above blade.

    Dang! That's quite the transformation.

Looks to work better than Mothers which I was using before.

Maybe a sure shot would be West Marine. It's down the street.

Colour me impressed on the polish jobs Mike but I gotta say I liked the look of the patina pre polish on the IXL

Too bad they can't capture the manly smell of Hoppes #9 in an aftershave and matching cologne.

Oh, its still there, just a bit cleaner. It was too grungy the way it was, even for a simple soapy scrub.
