FME, the Morris Red Imps had more stable scales than the Case ones.......
Then, there are the Ludos and the Giesen & Forsthoff ones
Speaking of stable scales.
I got My Top Flight's Ellicotteville sister razor scaled, The Blackie CMon.
Neat pair off the same line!

Filled the tang stamps with silver paint, on the Imp. Will have to touch up again, after touching it too early and had it stick to my fingers.. peened the wedge tight and took it to the scroll saw to open it up a bit, a little faster than the mighty hacksaw blade.
Pinned it with nickle/silver rod, and a couple, under collar washers. Not a show piece, just another shaver.
Then finished the repairs on the scales for the Wosty, and put them in oil. They look pretty good, so their only going to soak for 24 hrs.

Looking Good! :
Have you ever used a vacuum chamber to get oil into horn or bone scales? Just wonderingOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

No, I haven't. I do remember you doing it, I believe. Would definitely work in a lot deeper.

I know you've done a lot of things that many or most of us haven't thought about so I was just wondering about the vacuum chamber.
Yes I've used one for a few projects and it can make a big difference/especially when you're soaking bone in a light mineral oil/it changes it to where it 'almost' looks like ivory. With that said I love the feel of the oil infused bone in my hand. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

That's the one, Roy!
Nothing like bone in the hand. IMO

Nice work guys. The vac chamber sounds like the way to go. Might have to read on that one. Or just send Roy my bone to play with!
It's just Sharpening, right?
