You will have better results with a premium cotton based paper . I have used 65# card stock in the past with good results.

Rubberset 400 - #3 & #4 restoration
Started on this pair set of Rubberset 400 - #3 & #4. Knot removed and a quick polish to see any issues. After a week of soaking with penetration oils and no luck of unscrewing the ferrule I went looking. The fix was heating ferrule in hot water (way too simple Har!) and it came right off.
Now to mirror finish the surface. Polished aluminum has such a unique feel to it for me plus it is really shiny.

You have fixed the problem now - but I found that soaking for 10 minutes or so in lime remover and hot water was all that was needed. I re-knotted four doing this with no problems after applying some penetrating spray after lime removal. By the way, I kept the original long boar knot in one of mine - it's a great brush and makes a really great change from my usual badgers.

Fredrick Reynolds Faux Frameback 7/8
I got some of this horn and it is by far my favorite... I did have to make sure that both sides of the horn had the lightness to it, I thought it would look off if the color scheme wasn't close...

Dafonz6987, I love the streaked horn. It gives it character! Great work.
