Hat's off to anyone attempting this.
I am far too lazy to try!

Thanked: 4827I think Toms technique for scales is horse trading. It seems to be extremely effective. As for the duck scales, slow and steady. . .

I dunno. I have donated lots of these failing razors to others who exhibit the desire to do this,
I expect not much fortune to be gleaned, but saving this stuff for posterity is a good thing.
Nice DublDucks, GoldEdges and sweet Satinedges, Cmons, Hess. Craftsman, etc and so forth with these failing celluloid scales deserve some to be saved.
You just don't see them like you did 10 years ago..
I like to see it done!Last edited by sharptonn; 03-26-2019 at 01:41 AM.

I had mentioned not keeping it 100% original, so thinking I’m going to gold leaf the stamps on both sides of the the tang. Then looking at abalone shell veneer sheets to line the insides of the scales. Since they are clear I think it would look pretty sharp with the gold accents and a blue/green abalone lining. Thoughts?

Thanked: 4827I am not a big fan of aboloneshell buta very thin veneer with the clear acrylic cover will have a unique look like to catch quite a few eyes.
