Nice fit Tom. The shape of that blade looks a lot like the one i tried to put in straight scales. Downward tang and low tail.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Welllll. Would'nt you know it...Change of plans!

Since the Kaufmann has the maker's name on the scales only, reckon I will disassemble it's original scales and see if I can straighten and get the scratches out and reassemble.
Otherwise, it would be a no-name Solinger.

For the Octopus's Garden, I have chosen a spanking NOS 15/16 Herder 76.
    Another 2-fer!

Scales are in mineral oil overnight. Next to get some pin-holes drilled and procure/make a wedge....

    Nice combination Tom.
Those scales would make just about any blade look better!

Tom IF you had a TV show, I think it might go like this:

Next week on sharptonn's How we pin scales Tom will be pinning a Solinger razor into some custom made scrimshaw bone scales.

But when the show would start it might go like this:

Due to difficulties beyond our control Tom will be pinning that Solinger into a vintage set of Kaufmann scales. We apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I do like your choices and am looking forward to seeing everything pinned up.

I reckon that is how I roll, Roy...I never see it til it's right before me.
    Then...I keep looking!

I often begin with one and wind-up with 2 or 3!

After the picture of the window cleaned with Goo Gone I would expect a program containing the phrase, "But wait! There's More!!"

Couple guys on a local forum are interested in straight shaving. Made this bridle strop for one of them. It isn't a Miller, but considering it is free I think he will be happy with it!
