Seems to come back anyway! Goo gone is pretty mild. The stuff on the window was a gooey mess. I don't know what caused it. Top stays down most all the time.
I see Meguiars makes a product to polish the plastic windows. Now that I have the crap off, I will try some of that.

Got my razors finished. Matt made those scales for the 472 for me.
3 layers, G-10, aluminum, and cocobolo. He put a good bit of banana in them and I knew they would take a deeper blade.
The Goedeckey was one that would come out the bottom of any scales I tried.
Seems a good thing to swap some stuff around.

Went silver pins with the brass collars on the Henckels because the scales have silver and brass and Matt's scales were pinned the same.

    All turned-up good, I think!

You know, I've never liked that fake wood grain. But, the extra bit in the middle makes me reconsider my opinion. Those look great!

    I hear you...It DOES make a difference.
This is my 4th....I gave a set to Rezdog to keep me from doing the 7 razor thing.

    Failing miserably!

You did give me a set of those scales Tom, and I have a 472 in them.

On today's list, I have ponyed-up 13 bucks and change and bought some Meguiars 'Plast-X' and a few dual-sided applicators. They say soft, new terry to apply and microfiber to remove, so these should fill the bill. Will do the window first and then see it it will brighten the headlights on my old truck. Starting to dim.......

On the razor front, an old NOS Kaufmann blade out of it's warped, horribly shelf-worn and scratched scales installed into some sturdy faux-ivory 'Morning Glide DeLuxe' scales.
Keeping things simple and thereby being my lazy self, I will be polishing the insides with Maas and q-tips smashed with a hammer to get in there. Will have to dig through old collars to find a few stacks that closely match the bottom ones.

I use the Plastix polish at work to keep the scratches off on my helmet visor, and a well polished visor repels the water as well, so less salt residue. I think it should work well for both of those tasks.

Tried the Turtle Wax headlight kit once. Had a progression of micromesh pads so there was a lot of polishing. The results looked good, but didn't seem to last long.

Nix that idea after a test-fit.....To make it fit the scales, they would have to come apart and work on the wedge..likely an offset pivot-hole bushing to push the tang up.
    Meh....

Lesseee, If I am to actually work, something worthwhile.
Perhaps the one-and-only scrimshawed 'Octopus's Garden' scales from Shaun have found a blade!
