I have always thought that a brook trout larger than 10" was almost worth mounting not eating.

It takes a big man to resist temptation and release a possible 16lb brookie. He has photos and measurements so I am sure good taxidermist could make a replica mount of it for him.

Here's a pic of one of the guys from my bass club.
Caught it while fishing for small mouth in lake Erie, out of Ashtabula, Ohio.

Never did find out how much it weighed, haven't seen him to ask, he's always fishing. :

    Lake trout, I believe.

Those are some bigun's, guys. I like catching big fish as much as anyone, but most true wild trout in the Appalachians can be measured in inches instead of pounds, though they usually live in the most beautiful places. I used to fish the Trophy Water in Cherokee until the Tribe jacked up the yearly license so much; I find that I prefer the solitude afforded by a few miles' hike anyways. Occasionally I catch a big bruiser brown, which is nice-they are hard to fool, and even harder to land.

Back to razors, I was farting around Bryson City, NC today, and found a Gillette Aristocrat in the velvet box in great shape for a good price. The same place also has a nifty old Barbicide sterilizing cabinet that would be good for display. I may grab one or both before I leave.

You guys need to come to Florida and land (or try to land) one of the 20lb largemouth we have here. The record is 18 but I know a guy who landed one over 20 and he took it home and ate it. There is a pond up the street in my neighborhood that is probably less than 1/2 acre and about 8" shallower than a Ford Ranger (long story) that the kids fish in. My son caught a 8 lb-er in there.

Paul-I'd love to catch a largemouth that size; some of those little ponds can hold serious lunkers. And Jerry, I don't normally shave with a DE, but when I'm rushed, like on some mornings during the school year, I will use my Gillette FatBoy. I think I will grab that Aristocrat next time I go to town here.

My bro in law likes cartridge razors still sadly. So I whipped him up an upgrade for his birthday.
