    Default Westby Leicester rescale

Okay, be honest. Do these scales make my tail look fat?

... seriously though. I replaced the scales because I cracked a piece off during de-scale. They were narrower and pointy at the ends. I bought these horn blanks and left them wider and thicker but they are comfortable. I feel like a chick though. One minute I think I like the way they look then I see the pictures and it looks clunky.
Can you be good girlfriends and not let me walk around with pants that make my ass look fat?

Here is home I figure out the answer to that question. How does it strop? I find if the scales transition nicely into the tang, fit well into my hand and the blades strops beautifully then they are correct. If not back to the drawing board.

Everything works fine. It's more the way they look that I guess I'm referring to. I must be getting in touch with my feminine side. I'm going to have to go to a monster truck rally or something.
In all seriousness it shaves like dream and handles, hones and strops great.

I suppose you could always use a detailed brush and paint on some more dark stain if it needed to be darker. I have a Robson shuredge "The razor that fits your face" that I love. That was the first razor that I bought for myself new. Although I should say NOS. It didn't have the box but it still had the sticker on it and looked like it had been in a display case.
Thanks, once I'd dinged the bolster I decided to try some new things. Hope it helps someone out.

This one had a part of the sticker but I couldn't read most of it. I photo'd it for posterity. Found this in the Robeson club thread https://sharprazorpalace.com/razor-c...tml#post553599 Thought it was pretty interesting, mine is apparently for a tough wiry beard with skin exposed to weather and I don't need to strop it much.

I took a picture of mine also. It said:
    No. 35H350
Gouund and honed for heavy beard
    Very tender skin
    Rounded end for nervous man

Ah, it's just the model description from the booklet. I could just make out "weather" on part of mine and couldn't figure out what that had to do with razors. The pieces have come together and I can kick that little puzzle out of my brain. Thanks for posting that.

Turns out I had a set of NiAg collars Austin threw in as a freebie with an order I placed. So, thanks to the generosity of another SRP member I got the Robeson finished this weekend. Honed up and ready for a test pass or two next weekend.

The etching on the blade is not as prominent as it once was but it's still there if you look close. I may play with some marker or bluing to try and make it more visible. The collars look a bit odd on the pivot end, but they cover the damaged bolster and feel fine when honing and stropping. For now I'm pleased with it and it was fun to work on. Looking forward to trying a new to me razor.
