Excellent work . I think it looks odd to you because you know what they cover. It didn't stand out to me, in fact I didn't really
    notice until you mentioned it.

speaking of nickel silver. I'll just make a blanket offer here. I have scrap yellow brass and nickel silver in the way of spent keys, which are the perfect thickness (the heads at least) for wedges and could be hammered out to make bolsters, running out of my ears. If anybody wants to pay for shipping I'll send you as many as you want.

Edit: mostly yellow brass but NiAg also.

Further edit: I guess I can do that without being a vendor right? I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm just offering to give something away but with help on shipping. Don't want to break any rules.

I know I posted something about this thing a while ago but for the life of me I can't find it to refer back to. I started kind of playing around with this thing a few weeks ago and then got interested in some other stuff. Last night I decided to de-pin it and start the sanding process.

That's just the first round of about 3 hours (give or take)
The scales are very dry and have a couple of small cracks that don't go all the way to the edge or all the way through. Also they're warped.

There's also one small chip...at least it looks like a chip and not a bite. Guess I need to fill that first then on to the soaking and ironing and pressing...hey I feel like I'm getting ready to do laundry.
I was so psyched to get this one because of the way these faux framebacks look but I'm starting to fall out of love with shaving with anything less than 3/4 hollow. Who knows. Maybe it's a seller.

I too don’t think it looks odd, it looks like part of the fleur de lis detail of the bolster. I think it finishes the detail nicely. And does not look too large to get in the way of holding when stropping or shaving.

Try using a small, single fluted centering bit. They are inexpensive and cut a very controlled divot, removing a small coil of material at a time, very controllable. I also made a fine punch from a small Philips screwdriver that I ground to a point then heat treated hard. It makes a precise dimple, that I then follow up with a bit larger center punch then drill a starting divot with a center drill, followed up with a sharp twist drill. The point of the small center drill is very sharp.

You can also turn down washers to a specific size, by stacking on a small bolt or screw add a nut and chuck in a drill press or Dremel and run on a file to the desired size. If you do them together, they will all match.

Using a drill press, make sure you set up on the slowest speed, or just use a hand twist drill, I like the ones with the ball on the end, you can twist and apply pressure evenly.

You did a nice pinning job, and doming. I have found sometimes if the collars are too large, they don’t hold tension well, so I dome a smaller washer to the height of the inside of the large domed collar and pin with the smaller domed washer inside. Much like steel inner washer were used on Sheffield razors.

It supports the collar, spreads out the tension nicely on the scale and maintains an even tension with out the large collar cutting into the scale material.
Love those scales, nice repair. Robesons are some of my favorite shavers.

The Ren Wax keeps soaking in, So I will need to coat them a bunch of times before it settles down. Got one of them finished on my Thuri and one on 12K. Shave test tomorrow. Might go with a Jnat finish on the 12K. It's going a little far to be going to a Jnat next but I'm still learning these stones so why not. The Thuri edge is popping hairs very nicely.
