The heel is keeping half of the razor off the stone.

    The heel needs correction,

The corner of the edge is running into the stabilizer and you are honing on the tang.

The bevel should be the same from heel to toe. Reprofile the heel.

    If you're talking about these marks...Name: PXL_20210130_152112906.PORTRAIT~2.jpg

...that's something someone did before, possibly during the grinding. There are some on the other side that are worse.

And yes I still need to work on the stabilizer...

You do not need to do anything to the stabilizer, you need to re-profile the heel and move the corner of the edge forward and away from the stabilizer.

You are honing on the tang, which is keeping the heel half of the edge off the hone, That, is why the bevel is so thin at the heel and why the blade was so mis-shaped.

If you do not reprofile the heel you will eventually regrind the blade back into the shape it was before, and you will never get the heel half of the razor to shave well unless you grind away the stabilizer and ruin the look of the razor.

You should have corrected the heel first, then reprofiled the edge to blend in the new heel.

Man, you are hard to help.

For the benefit of other new honers with a similar issue, on that razor the TANG extends all the way over the Stabilizer, (Blue Arrow).

So even if you tape the spine, and don’t leave marks, the only way you could hone that heel edge, is to hone on the TANG.

Look at the marks on the razor, (red arrows) yea I know some other dude made those marks. If you hone on the Tang the heel half of the razor is off the stone, unless you grind the tang and stabilizer down even with the bevel angle, which the previous owner tried to do unintentionally, needlessly ground the spine and ground the edge into a weird shape.

You are honing on the tang or you would have a full bevel at the heel, you do not have a bevel at the heel.

Correct the heel and you will fully cut an even bevel from heel to toe and you will not mis-shape the edge.

Sorry if that sounded harsh, I typed lightly.

Thank you Marty. I really do appreciate it, I really do. The reason why I don't have a bevel at the heel is because I haven't even put one there yet. I did a test bevel and saw that it was not sitting right. I have not made all the corrections yet. So technically yes I guess I have honed on the tang for a stroke or two, enough to see that it's still needs some reshaping but I am not honing on the tang because I haven't honed it yet. I haven't even tried to do anything more than just see where it marks since I did the reshape which I am still not done with yet. Besides, even when I did that I started in front of the stabilizer. I'm trying to be more cautious than normal with this one, probably More so than necessary but this is one that I really cherish and want to make sure I do it right. And I am listening to your advice. I don't want to get into an argument with you Marty, I really don't but you are a little hard to take help FROM. I mean, you have to admit you come in a little hot sometimes. Sometimes it comes across more as criticism than critique. Or maybe you don't even realize you're doing it. Tell you what. I'll work on my end of that all right?

    Pauly, Pauly.

I really don't but you are a little hard to take help FROM. I mean, you have to admit you come in a little hot sometimes.

God, I miss the Old Guard, Neil Miller, Pixelfixed, 10 Pups, Wolfpack34 and the rest, when we had pointed discussions about razors, hones, honing techniques and razor history, and no one got their silkys ruffled.

Sometimes it comes across more as criticism than critique. I may have underestimated you.

Or maybe you don't even realize you're doing it. No, I taught CQB.
I vote we get it over with and change the SRP background color to Beau Blue or a soft Pink.

Tell you what. I'll work on my end of that all right?
Tell you what. You got it figured out, the world does revolve around you.
    Have a nice life Pauly.

Okay, so is this what it's going to be then? Trashing each other and insults. Being rude as hell and criticizing each other's work? Is that what the old days was? If that's the case then I'm not sure this is really what I want. But, honestly I don't think that's really what this is. I thought at least that this was supposed to be gentleman sharing an interest in razors and helping each other out? I could throw dirt and insults. I'm not even going to retaliate for that last thing although I could call BS on all of it.
I tried to take the high road and be conciliatory but we see where that goes.I really don't want to fight with anybody because I don't think that's what we're here for. Is this what it is gentleman? Because I don't think that iis what this site was really founded on as much as some people want to say to the contrary.
I'll just say this one more time. I really do appreciate everyone's help no matter who it is,Even people who nonstop insult me because they don't think I'm cool enough or whatever. Honestly, I think that's a personal problem. Well... Whatever. I have no hard feelings against anyone. Whatever you do is up to you. That's all I'm going to say about it.

So how about we talk about some razors?
I did actually do the heel correction which I was going to do anyway. But I will give credit where credit is due. Marty suggested it and I took his advice. Name: PXL_20210131_021908283.jpg

I also did some more sanding and I think I will probably do some more down through the levels but I really like this opaque finish on this razor.

I don't really understand the heel thing, but the razor is looking good. I think the idea of the level of polish is probably better judged in person. But it looks good on the photos.
If you're wondering I'm probably being sarcastic.
