Nice Genco Tom! And very good tips on wedge/scale manipulating gents..

Didn't get to the hones as I planned.
Got some cramped hands tonight from a day on the roof units and 'Twas a wee bit cold up there still this early April. Nothing like teaching npt pipe threading 101 to seasoned millwrights that should already know how to do it...

I'm not sure, can't read anything on it anymore.
But it is Russian tanned, and has little draw. The leather is also tapered. Thick at top, progressively thinning towards the bottom.

A little rescale (my first) and a light resto:
I changed the scales on my Dovo from basic black to faux mother of pearl and then put the black scales on a cheap e-bay Griffon 60 that was a little rough and with broken scales when I got it. Just finished honing the Griffon and it will get a test on a three day growth this evening.

My peening hammer was made by my great-grandfather when he worked as a machinist in a railroad car shop in 1905. Love this little hammer.
