So I've decided I would copy my old Eliott for the scale shape. Cutting out the ivory will be a adventure.

Thanked: 4206Fine looking storage box Mike, nice figuring in that grain for sure.
Colin, gonna be a fine looking razor.
I can etch ivory, if that helps you at all. Like a wood burning kit only much more accurate.
Found ivory to shape and cut without effort with a sharp fine tooth hand blade. Wish I had more, really enjoyed working with it, ghoul that I am evidently..
Good luck.

Thanked: 2284Mike F. I know what that looks like already in my head because it looks similar to those birds eye maple scales you did, and you know I love those. I'm betting that maple looks stunning in person. Nice work brother!

Finished the scale replacement, clean up, and hone, yesterday. It awaits a test shave in the morning.
Not sure of what the tang stamp reads..
Maybe one of you know.!?
Finally... The last razor from memorial day's hull of eleven.
Geo. Wistenholm & Son, Pipe Razor.
Overall.. Great condition, for the wilds.
A bit of rust, worst being on the top of the toe ,of the spine.
The bad part...
Someone started sanding/grinding, on the blade already. Thankfully the spine and edge look unscaved.
At least he didn't grind the tang stamp, and there's plenty of steel to remove the sanding/grinder marks.
