Finished honing the Clauss tonight, Shave test in the morning.
Found where my new unknown stone falls into progression. It removes stirations from the 1k up to around 10k, maybe 9k.
Then to 12k, Thurigan with slurry to just water, and about 100 passes on the purple club.Mike

Got a John Coe handed to me by the GF this evening before we went out on the Harley for a few hours. This razor was her best friends great grandfather's and they were selling it at a garage sale for 5 bucks. I have no idea what the scales are but they are shot anyway. Blade should clean up nicely.
This last week has buried me in restoration projects and i feel like a pig in... well you know.

They might be wood scales. I gave them i quick clean up last night and could see the grain in a few spots. I've seen what you did with some CA and horn power, but if they are wood is there a similar technique? I wouldn't mind trying to fix em up. I've got an old Joseph Rogers in horn that requires the same kind of repair but I'm afraid to do a first try on that one . This would be good practice.

Pretty certain they are of horn, Matt, judging by the look and the common beetle damage.
