Straight up and down with the sandpaper, no circles or polishing till the end IIRC....

You guys have done some great work here. I step away for a few days and there's a hundred posts to read!

Yesterday I did something I hadn't done in a few years. Got my hands on another Kenwa, western grind this time. Pitted heavily at a few places, I said, screw it, let's try this, see what happens... and so I reached for 80 grit. Didn't take a pic before, I only remembered to take a shot at around 320.

Right now, it looks like this. Admittedly I killed the grind line a bit, and then tried to restore it. That was a fun exercise, but one I didn't really pursue, worrying I might do more harm than good. Perhaps that's somewhat visible on the second picture.

As the time passes, so we learn.

Fyi the current bone scales I'm working on are .093 with a minimal sanding to do.

Nice work Thaeris. That is quite the ink selection you have going on.

Srdjan we all blend a few lines here and there. We try not to but it happens. The blade is looking good though.

MGMike that boat looks like a big job, if it has been well kept it won't be that big of a deal.
