For pins filling I use a set of EZE Lap small diamond files/plates, comes in medium, fine, superfine. Many uses for these little plates as well, you can easily reshape part of your razor, smooth out a burr etc. You could probably fix the geometry and stabilizer on a gold dollar with these as well but no guarantees on that since I have no experience with GD nor do I want any.

Without tape will reveal the true spine wear.

    I assume its a wedge.?
Yeah its a wedge, Ill try that before going any further with it

Thanks Martin. Ill look into those. They look a bit wide for file use to me but with some care i guess it can be done.

About 6 months ago I noticed some fresh rust on this Merx razor. Removed from gen pop and quarantined i just opened the container for the first time since then. The blade had a nice coating of Ren wax on it.. did not matter. Definitely off gassing. No heavy odor when I opened the container they were in though.

    Faux ivory scales?

I have a few little fix up razor jobs im gonna get done today. First thing on the list is get this blade out of these scales.

    Way ahead of ya, Matt.
Put the Fishin hook in there mid last year, its showing first stages of rust at this point, with light pitting.

A Diamond nail file might be a way to go too.

Smooth to the touch. Thanks for the details on getting a better pin job. I'll get faster with practice. And i could use some better files. These cheep H.F. files suck.
BTW, where do you guys buy quality mini sized files?

The etching on that scale looks great and so does that brush. Nice work guys.
Many hobby stores have small files for miniatures cast in pewter.
