I hear ya, Bruv. Spring has sprung.
Since my goal is to get them all shaving, my current chore is fairly easy....
Strop and shave with the 30 razor rotation in my headboard cubby, strop them, and install them into their own display case in my room.
Then, someday, dragging the rest out and hone, shave with them a while.

Hard to put away nice ones for others at times. We do tend to develop our 'faves' sometimes without giving others a chance, it seems.

Sometimes, the others are as good...even better!

I'm finding that restoring the near wedge razors are easier because they have all the exrta metal in them. But I have not had much luck getting a comfortable shave with a near wedge. I got 4, well now 4 and a half sense this last one is not finished yet. Not that I would part with any of them but they wont get used as much as the hollow ground razors.
    OK, Just wandering now.
I'm going to do some standard brass pinning on the Joseph Rodgers and try to get it honed tomorrow. I'll take the advice of going slow and using two pieces of tape. I can use all the help I can get still when it comes to honing. I manage but I'm not quick that's for sure!

Thanks to all for the props and Likes!

Yep, I can't seem to find quality time with the collection or at the workbench lately either. I have some that have been put away too long. But lately I've been sticking with just one razor, a Morley, for every shave. I'm just seeing about some things with the strops and touch-ups on the stones, studying the edge I guess. Plus, it's shaving soooo gooood that it's hard to change it up.

Spring is here and that means hunting season in New England. It's full-on game-on and I've been itching to get out there! I love searching "the wilds" for razors stuff.

This thread is always full of great projects that are done with class.
You guys have been rockin it!

I will get back to my collection of projects in the summer. Between my little ones and farming season kicking in. My time for projects is slim to none. Got most of the field equipment ready to go and bringing my 81 year old dad home Thursday. He winters in Florida. Sure is great to have him come back home.

There's been many a time when it took me several days of 'attempting to hone' a near full wedge as it wouldn't be going well so I'd just put the blade aside and come back later and try again.

By the way there's no sin in starting with three layers of tape and then start back to two and MAYBE ending in one, but I've found that ending with one layer is just a pipe dream (at least for me).

    Have fun.

I know what you mean Tom. It's hard for me to pick up a razor other than my Wosty 7/8.

    Man...You are in the 'spot'.

I have a friend in Nashua, so I take note.
A PILE of razors I own have come through Nashua on their way to me as tracking them.

You can find overpriced and worn down junk down here. About it!

Thats right. Just sharpening! Love you too Roy!
I dont care what you think. Ha. I'm still wondering about the layers of tape but with the wide bevel on this razor from someone not knowing how to hone a smiling blade, its going to take some work. So layers it will be! And I hope to get back down to one layer of tape. That seems to be the sweet spot for me too.
