Trialed it out on a scrap of corian as it gives a cleaner edge than wood and filled it for effect.

And Tuzi, appreciate the fine compliments, and your patience on the job. I'm thorough, not fast, hehehe

Tom was right, the original, 'warts and all' as my wife's mom would say, looked the best and once the CNC program runs its course on my under support I can start to line up the scale.
Learned from challenges on the laser as far as placement so am first engraving the logo into another piece of plastic, then will position the scale on top of that with two sided tape to get the rake and angle just right.
Biggest issue might be getting the lid of my jar off gold flake as it seems to be quite tight again, grrr.
And gents, me thanks for the tips and kind words..

So a frustrating time getting the hard New York Steel to accept a blue-job!
Think I am OK as I can oil it.....Had to do the stamp in silver before oiling.
Will need to sit a few days, I think.
Mebbe needs to be done again.

That two tone looks sweet tom! How'd you silver the makers mark prior to bluing and did you protect it somehow during the application of the bluing agent?

Mike, nice work and that is a great line, thorough not fast.

Tom I am curious to see a wider shot of that blued Genco with the silver mark. It is looking pretty good from here. Bluing can sometimes be a little finicky.

Will get to that. Thing about bluing jobs. The are a bitch to get the good side of them in photos.

    Look awesome in-hand, however!

Very clever little trick with the rub-n-buff. Perhaps I will have to find some of that.

Way ta go Mike. Patience is a virtue, as with good things come to those that wait.

My boss from my previous job, always hated I was slow. But I was always thorough about my work, and had to remind him that he never heard a complaint from a customer, and they didn't have to bring their boat back in till fall for winterization.

Awesome work on the Otto, Mike! It's exciting to see the logo in that test piece. There is more involved than I imagined and you're thoroughness is commendable. Can't wait to see the next step, looking really great so far. Hats off to you Mike, it's really cool you are willing and able to do this.

Got this Clauss magnetic razor the other day, came all cleaned up but no scales. Since I still cant work outside to do anything I decided to use some plastic scales I got from Whipped Dog. Unfortunately when I put the blade in the scales it was obviously to small. So I decided to use some beat up scales just to get it working. Seems to have worked out better than I thought, though I still plan on changing them at some point. Now off to have some chow then to the stones!
