Having the urge to turn something i decided to make a knob for my favorite sauce pan. I've been using it for 30 plus years to heat my lunch and as far as i can remember it's never had a knob. I used the same technique(and material) that is used for my bowling ball brush.

    Elegantly executed.
And I’m guessing fairly insulating too. No heat transfer-like.

    Looks good :

My brother insisted that I take all of his cast iron when he was getting ready to start clearing his belongings out as he was anticipating that he'd eventually be forced into an assisted living home due to his COPD. I told him that I'd clean it all up and give it to my kids and he approved.

The Dutch Oven didn't have a proper lid but it fit pretty tight but it had a plastic knob and you could see that it was deformed by the heat.

So I took the knob with me on my ride summer before last and while at my good friend Joel's (Benz) home he helped me turn a brass knob for the lid.

It had been around 50 years since I'd used an engine lathe but damn was it fun!

Not close to what you people are doing but as this WB FBU has been sitting around without scales for about 2 years and little chance ill get around to making some soon I decided to throw these plastic scales on so I can actually use it. Still hopeful that eventually Ill get to make some scales worthy of the blade one day. Scales came pinned at the to without collars but as I dont trust myself to pin without collars yet I threw them on the pivot. Also must check my hammer as the head started getting loose. Now I jut need some time to hone

It took me a lot of attempts and broken scales to get good at pinning. I think Tom is the master of pinning.

Got this one apart, getting the dubl duck dwarf and my Bartmann 89. If I'm lucky, I may get all three put back together by the end of the week. Vacations aren't too shabby!

You should use that stone to sharpen your chisel.

Yes. The wood was so hard that it competed with the steel of the chisel. It is good that the chip occurred at the very end of the work.
