Received some razors from our new member Hardeeo2020, that he wants cleaned up and honed.
Three will need separated, for proper cleaning, two are good enough that I can leave pinned.

    Left - right

Wade and Butcher, Faux frameback, 5/8
    S.R. Droescher, Quick & Casual, 5/8
    Boker, 1056, 5/8
    Boker, Red - Injun, 11/16
    M. Jung, #80, 9/16

First thing was a good soak and scrubbin with Ala's totally awesome, degreaser/ cleaner.

The W&B needed the most attention, so it was first to the bench. Separated from its scales, with scales sanded, repaired, and ready for a soak in Neatsfoot oil, I cut off any active rust with a SE razor blade.

Then gave it a good rubbing with the 3M.

I'll let the scales soak till Sunday evening, their in pretty good shape, as of now.

Hmmm.....what's next.! Oh yeah..Johntoad's USMC razor.

    Let's see...WOW! what a mess .

A little more work to the tang, but the biggest amount of work resides in the honing.

Lots of pits, especially at the heal. I'm seeing at least two bevel widths being lost, but let's hope not.

Nice work Mike. Too bad about the pitting. In the pics i wasnt sure if that waz rust or just color from something put on it to keep the rust away. Oh well. It will be clean and shave a treat.

Finishing up on the five from Hardeeo2020.

Getting the scales to clean up on the Boker 1056 was a challenge. Once I got them scrubbed, the nasty, green monster, showed up..

Couldn't use the dremmel, fearing I might melt the intricate design in the scales, I had to opt. for around three hours with a rag in hand, and multiple plastic cleaning options, including Flitz and Maas. A chore to say the least, so much easier to clean off smooth scales, or fix rotten horn. :rofl2. But, here they are, ready for the hones.

Those ornate scales came out great. I have had some success using a nylon cup wheel, Polish and very low speed.

Hey Mike, what did you use on the Boker to turn them back to black? I have a couple of those and both sets of scales are discolored.

All this stuff. The 3M worked best, with repeated applications.
Typically I only need the Starbrite, or flitz. But that's with a leather wheel in the dremmel
